The basic organization form of the Association of Free and Independent Trade Unions (AFITU) is a branch union.
       Branch trade union can be established on the company members initiative. Nevertheless, final decision on forming a new branch trade union is made by AFITU Presidency in accordance with the Statute of AFITU as well as on the basis of assessment criteria meeting for independent action.
       Branch trade union is a legal body, having its own current account, seal, stamp, flag and sign.

 AFITU has seventeen (17) branch trade unions, as followed:

1. AFITU branch trade union of Serbian metalworkers
2. AFITU branch trade union of textile, leather and garment
3. AFITU branch union of trade
4. AFITU branch trade union of Serbian tobacco economy
5. AFITU branch trade union of chemistry and non-metals
6. AFITU branch trade union of transport and communications
7. AFITU branch trade union of Serbian explorers
8. AFITU branch trade union of art and culture
9. AFITU branch trade union of catering and tourism
10. AFITU branch trade union of rail transport employees
11. AFITU branch trade union of health and social security
12. AITU branch trade union of agriculture, waterworks, forestry and food
13. AFITU branch trade union of construction industry, wood and road industry
14. AFITU branch trade union of teachers
15. AFITU branch trade union of company for business training and employment of people with disabilities
16. AFITU branch trade union of athletes and sports workers
17. AFITU branch trade union of utility and public transport services
